WHAM:  What's Happen'n Art Movement

We believe that art is for everyone

WHAM is an inclusive local art community in Surprise, Arizona

that promotes artistic awareness, expression, and participation through diverse programming and projects, ensuring the arts thrive within our West Valley communities.

We are a founding member of the AZ Brain Capital Alliance and are committed to advancing the Brain Capital Movement by integrating NeuroArts principles into our programs and educational initiatives.

Neuroarts is an interdisciplinary field that studies the science behind how the arts and aesthetic experiences impact the brain, body, and behavior. This emerging field also provides education on how this knowledge can be translated into practices designed to advance the health and well-being of individuals and communities.

This includes methods that support physical and mental health, as well as enhancing social connections, lifelong learning, and enriched quality of life.

Guided by research demonstrating how arts and aesthetic experiences positively impact the brain, body, and behavior, we use creative engagement to promote brain health, well-being, lifelong learning, and social connection.

Through inclusive arts experiences, professional development, and community education, WHAM empowers individuals to understand and harness the benefits of creativity, helping build healthier, more connected, and resilient communities.
