WHAM's first annual calendar contest
WHAM ART CALENDAR 2020
Kittens, puppies, sunsets, swimsuits, and hunky Firemen… people don't buy calendars to write appointments on anymore (that is what smartphones are for) they buy them for the images. Now is the perfect time for people to see a little of “What's Happenin' in (the) Art Movement”… Now is the time for WHAM to put out its own calendar.
Thirteen original pieces (one on the cover) of Art available exclusively through WHAM Artists. It will provide a unique opportunity for people to take home, or share with friends and family, high-quality art created by our amazing members. It will also be a chance for us to gain greater exposure, both collectively and individually. And to raise some funds.
During July members will submit their entries for the contest. In August all entries will appear on our website where visitors will have the chance to vote for the artwork they most want to see in a calendar. The top thirteen pieces will move on to be published with the top vote artwork (Grand Prize Winner) getting the front cover. In late September there will be a reception unveiling the calendar and officially kicking off sales.
The potential is great. We may do a calendar and a planner requiring 25 art pieces to be selected, then more artist will have a chance to have their work in WHAM’s 2020 Calendar and Planners.
CALL TO ARTIST
The contest is open to all WHAM members. Entry is $25.00 to submit 2 pieces. Because our aim is to represent as many individual artists as possible, entries will be limited to two per person. The contest will be online so entries should be in jpeg format and file sizes need to be appropriate. There are no dimensional restrictions; however, final calendar pages will be 8 ½” x 11” and horizontal. Additionally, there will be an area on each month’s page to have a short Artist Bio, Name of Piece, Artist Name, medium and contact information. What a great way to get exposure year-round.

When you answer the Call to Artist you will need to send the images of your pieces to ME Odom at email@example.com, who will then place in our Webpage competition. The top 13 will be chosen for the calendar and another 12 will be chosen for the daily planner. IMAGES DUE BY JULY 31 FOR MEMBER VOTING IN AUGUST.
