"WHAM Annual Meeting"

Dear WHAM Members!

Thank you to the over sixty members who came to the Annual WHAM Members Meeting. We enjoyed breaking bread with you and getting to see you all in person.

For those of you who weren't able to make it, we missed you and hope you can join us for the upcoming Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, October 22nd from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Please invite your friends and family to come. Be watching out for a separate email to RSVP and to enter the contest.

For the meeting, there was a big spread of food, sandwiches, fruit, veggies, homemade cupcakes and as promised, lots of chocolate. It was a fun and informative night led by Maggie Gautier, the M.C. for the Open Mic Nights at WHAM. Maggie is also a Team Leader for the Literary Arts Programs that are growing here at WHAM. Maggie brought a light touch to the meeting with humor and fun facts. The group provided great suggestions and feedback on spreading the word.

We were joined by Lisa Platt, one of the WHAM Board Members. Also joining us was Maria Brunner from Credit Union West, our generous sponsor for the WHAM Art Gallery August Exhibit. Maria gave us a very informative presentation on the benefits of belonging to a credit union.

The WHAM Team Leaders for many of the programs gave a brief recap of what they do or what they teach and who in the community they serve. The call for volunteers was explained and we are going to be reaching out to you to see where you would like to be involved.

We asked, and the members responded, that they will tell three people each week about WHAM and invite them to come to the WHAM Art Center to see what we are about. Bringing more people into our center is a vision we hold. Please, tell your friends and spread the good news about what you are doing at WHAM. Let people know that the art was created at WHAM and/or share on social media that you are a member of WHAM. We ask you to share the WHAM website address on social media
once in a while to keep us in the forefront of people who would benefit from having a place they can come to experience the beauty and energy of art making. (web address www.wham-art.org)

The holidays are approaching, so remember that this is a great place for members as well as visitors to find one-of-a kind gifts in the WHAM Gift Shop. Bowls of Hope will take place on December 2nd. More information about the December event will be sent out soon.

As a non-profit 501c3, we could not survive without help. With our many programs, the grants that we get do not cover the costs of our worthwhile community programs. Please consider a charitable contribution to WHAM today and we will provide you with the tax deductible receipt and a big hug.

Thank you all for being a part of the WHAM Family.

Sincerely,
Connie Whitlock
Executive Director
