The Northwest Valley has an abundance of talented professional artists. The many cities of the Northwest Valley have grown rapidly expanding the need for housing and new businesses. All the City's Governments are swamped with building, licensing, zoning, and designing the infrastructure of our area. Art and Culture has not been a priority at this point. However, Art and Culture are the fabric of a society. The young and old benefit greatly by expressing themselves and being entertained by Art. Art helps unite the Northwest Valley with a community pride of uniqueness.
WHAM is not only dedicated to giving back to the community in an artistic way but to help the local artist unite and support each other.
We are offering a central forum for the local artist to get acquainted, to display and advertise their work, and to get involved in their community.
These artist will be devoting their time and efforts by participating and implementing Art exhibits, Art Competitions, Art Walks, Art Mosaics, Art Demonstrations, Art Classes to Schools and Community Workshops.
One of the annual events that the local artists will be promoting is an Art studio tour. Many local artist have studio's that they work at and sell their pieces from. These usually are week-ends and designed to have open houses with a map for the public to follow and view the art work at the studio. An announcement will be made as to the date and time....
Some of our artist members have had their work displayed at local art museums and galleries. Some of the artist have had pieces in local exhibits at: The West Valley Art Museum, Surprise; Shemer Art Center and Museum, Scottsdale; The North Mountain Visitor Center, Phoenix; and Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff. Not to mention out of area art exhibits and Galleries in: St. George, Utah; Lafayette, IN; Sedonna, AZ; Sacramento, CA.
